INTO THE DARKNESS

"Into the Darkness" is an invitation to look where we are often taught to look away. This series does not seek to solve the enigma of depression, but rather to sit within it—to document the weight of the air, the texture of the silence, and the specific, haunting geometry of isolation.

Through my eye, the invisible becomes seen. Here, depression is not a concept, but a human landscape. It is found in the way light fails to reach a corner, in the heavy drape of a shadow across the body, and in the profound stillness that mirrors a heart at a standstill. These images are the result of a deliberate, quiet patience—a waiting for the moment when the mask of the everyday slips to reveal the raw, unadorned truth of the inner self.

The lens serves as a translator for the unspoken. By stripping away the distractions of the external world, this work focuses on the "climate of the soul." It explores the duality of the dark: how it can be both a suffocating void and a place of sanctuary.

In these frames, I find a contrast in the deep, long journey my daughter has gone through with her mental health. I see that the struggle is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to the endurance of the human spirit. I invite you to linger in these shadows—not to get lost, but to find, perhaps for the first time, a reflection of the things we usually carry in the dark that noone sees.
