Going to try a different lens to shoot my sunrises this weekend. Instead of my trusty 16mm f/1.4 R WR prime, going to use a zoom, 16-55mm f/2.8. I'm hoping this will allow me to crop in camera to get a tighter composition & still be able to have that 16mm focal length if I need it.
I do have the 56mm f/1.2, which would allow me the luxury of the longer focal length but while on location with the wind blowing around the salt spray I hesitate to switch out lens.
I also ran some test yesterday, on finding the 16-55mm "sweet spot" to get everything in focus, shooting in vertical & horizontal orientation. I was a little surprised to find that sweet spot! One more thing I also bought a Lee Filter 4 stop soft grad filter & I want to take it out for a test run tomorrow!
It's ALOHA FRIDAY, have a safe & great weekend everyone!!!
Aloha a hui hou my friends!
