I was a bit hesitant to shoot from Sandy's just for the fact that I felt that I've over shot this location & I feel the same way about Makapuu Beach too, but some friends were meeting up there so I followed. The tide was on a upward swing from a early morning low at 3:30 am. As I walked deeper into Sandy's I watched the waves as it rushed up the shore & wrapped it silky waters around this rock. I watched to see if the waves would break consistently around the rock, & it did so I planted my tripod there to see what I could capture.
Earlier that morning before I left the house, I grabbed my Fuji XPro 2 camera instead of my trusty Sony A7S II that i normally shoot with. Every fiber in my mind & body was telling me to go back & take the Sony A7S II!!! I had made a conscious decision to continue to test my Fuji out on my sunrise quest, so I stuck to my guns & drove off with my Fuji. I'm not sure what happened but it felt different when I was out on the shore with my Fuji, maybe I was was feeling more comfortable with shooing with it at sunrise or the environmental conditions were just right?!
When I got home to do my edits I was pleasantly surprised at the images as I culled through my photos. Unlike previous shoots that I edited only the beautiful jpegs that were coming out of the fuji, this time I worked on & processed the raw files.
Aloha a hui hou my friends!
