Sunrise at Makapuu Beach Park, I shot this image with almost no ambient in the foreground, see the 2nd image from this post. Rather than pushing my ISO up I decided to do a longer exposure. I did use a Lee Filter 3 stop soft grad to knock off just a bit of light that was starting to blowing out over the sky with the longer exposure. See the image caption below each image for all the camera settings.
I wanted to get lower so I could capture the light coming from underneath the arch on the rock to camera left. The waves were coming in just a bit too strong & splashing droplets of water on my lens & filter so I had no choice but to raise my POV.
By now, I should be at Marks Garage for the 2016 CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY IN HAWAII Artist Reception. The reception will run from 6-8pm, so if you have time drop by & say hi!
It's ALOHA FRIDAY once more! Have a safe & fun weekend everyone!!!
Aloha a hui hou my friends!
