Had a very interesting Sunday Chasing the Milky Way at Sandy Beach, then packing up & shooting down to Makai Pier for sunrise. I think making the move from Sandy's to Makai kind of thru off my timing, I just wasn't too happy with my shots, they weren't bad, but it didn't feel right in my gut, as I was shooting. For the 1st time shooting sunrise I really didn't pay any attention to the actual sunrise since I was so focused in trying to create that 1 image, it might have been frustration as well. I have to go back!!!
Below is the original RAW file, I had to fix the distortion on the pilings that's on the outer edges of my lens. Using a 16-35 @ 16mm created some major distortion bowing the pilings inward towards the center. 90% of the editing as well as the b/w conversion was done in Lightroom. The distortion was fixed in Photoshop using the warp tool, since the piling was so close to the edge. After it was straightened, content aware tool was used to fill in the blanks.
Aloha a hui hou my friends!
